The latest edition of this study, carried out by the Institute for Mobility and Social Development (Imds), showed that, of those born into families in the poorest 25% of Brazil, 48% remain in that income bracket in adulthood. It is as if they were born condemned to be poor. They will remain in the same situation as their parents. If nothing changes, their children will have the same fate, as will their children's children.A mais recente edição desse estudo, realizado pelo Instituto Mobilidade e Desenvolvimento Social (Imds), mostrou que, dos nascidos em famílias que compõem os 25% mais pobres do Brasil, 48% continuam nessa faixa de renda quando chegam à vida adulta. É como se nascessem condenados a serem pobres. Continuarão na mesma situação que a de seus pais. Se nada mudar, seus filhos terão o mesmo destino, assim como os filhos de seus filhos.
